Yoga
Jo offers a variety of different yoga styles.
Power Yoga
Power Yoga is a fun but challenging style of vinyasa flow yoga which focusses on building strength, balance and flexibility. Power Yoga is more vigorous and fitness based than other types of yoga so the pace of the class is usually a little faster with a variety of different poses to suit everyone's level.
Yin Yoga
Yin is a slower-paced style of yoga where poses are held for a few minutes at time. Yin focusses on working the deep connective tissue also known as fascia. It is highly complimentary to Power Yoga - or as some people say it is the yin to the yang of power! - as it helps improve flexibility and the flow of energy around the body. Yin helps you slow down, find stillness and reconnect with the body, leaving you with a sense of deep calm and relaxation. Jo did her yin yoga training with Murielle Burlier and Sebastian Pucelle, who have both studied under the prominent expertise of Paul & Suzee Grilley (initiators of yin yoga).
Yoga for Cyclists
Yoga is known to reduce the likelihood of injury, while building strength, stamina, and power: all essential components for a strong and successful ride. This class is designed specifically with cyclists in mind: focussing on breath control, engaging the power of the mind and reducing muscle stress while lengthening muscles to promote a longer, more powerful stride.
Pre & Postnatal Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Jo trained as a pre & post natal teacher with appleyoga. The appleyoga approach is an intelligent and grounded methodology that is easy to learn and empowers women at these keystone time of life to go deep into their practice with lightness and grace. It is biomechanically savvy, safe and grounded and features key actions for empowerment and freedom in the body, and is grounded in principles of sequencing that allow people to come home in every class.
